Central Frontenac Birding

Saturday, January 19: Come out and enjoy a winter birding day in an area you’ve yet to explore. Today we will be covering ground by car, visiting sites in Frontenac and Lennox & Addington counties, beginning our day in the rugged country north of Sharbot Lake. Black-backed Woodpecker, Red Crossbill, White-winged Crossbill, redpolls, Northern Shrike, Northern Goshawk and even a northern owl or two are possibilities today 🙂

Outing notes: Here are some ideas of what to pack and what to wear during this field outing. Insulated winter boots and snow pants are good items to pack. Please pack some water, a lens cloth, lip balm, sunscreen, and favoured field guides. Please dress warmly and wear layered clothing.

Breakfast & Lunch: Please pack/eat your own breakfast before, or even during, the tour. We will enjoy a hearty country meal for our sit-down lunch after the tour is complete.
