Sunday, November 19: Today we will bird along the St. Lawrence River, from Morrisburg to Cornwall. After our morning along the St. Lawrence we will enjoy a sit down lunch then make our way to Ottawa, where we will bird the Arboretum/Fletcher Wildlife Garden/Dow’s Lake. Targets include: Red-throated Loon, Red Phalarope, Purple Sandpiper, large numbers of mergansers, Glaucous Gull, Iceland Gull. The possibility of rarities is abound along the St. Lawrence. On 13 November, I observed 3 Red-throated Loon, 1 King Eider and 1 Red Phalarope while birding along the route I have in mind for this tour! Please note that this tour is especially suited for those with an interest in using spotting scopes to scan for and observe waterbirds.

Please wear layered clothing, as well as a wind-breaker, as it can be quite chilly by mid November.
