Sunday, December 10: This afternoon, we will search for roosting small owls such as Northern Saw-whet, Long-eared and Boreal. We will also bird Dow’s Lake, scanning for waterfowl. The berry trees at the Arboretum may have robins and waxwings, so we’ll be sure to keep an eye out. We will finish our afternoon by birding Andrew Haydon Park/Ottawa Beach, where a variety of waterfowl and gull species will be searched for. Gulls such as Iceland and Glaucous are possible at this location at this time of year.
