Winter Birding in the Ottawa Valley

Saturday, February 17: For today’s tour we will begin by birding Constance Bay to look for the wintering Red-headed Woodpeckers. We will then drive our way to the Cobden area, where we will search birds of prey, including owls.

Outing notes: Here are some ideas of what to pack and what to wear during our outing. Winter boots are strongly recommended.  A field lunch, some snacks, water, a thermos full of your preferred hot beverage, hand and foot warmers, extra socks, layered clothing, lens cloth, lip balm, sunscreen and favoured field guides.

Activity Scale: 2/5. We will be mostly be birding by car, with a short hike at Constance Bay to start.
