Eastern Ontario “Tundra”

Thursday, February 15: This morning we will bird the fields east of Casselman in search of Snowy Owls, Rough-legged Hawks, Lapland Longspurs, Snow Buntings, Horned Larks and white-winged Gulls (Glaucous and Iceland). Possible rarities include: Gyrfalcon at the Lafleche dump. On our way back to Ottawa, we will bird some of Larose Forest, listening for finch flyovers and looking for Evening Grosbeak at a reliable winter feeder.

A field lunch, some snacks, water, a thermos full of your preferred hot beverage, hand and foot warmers, extra socks, sturdy and warm footwear, windbreaker, layered clothing, lens cloth, lip balm, sunscreen and favoured field guides.

Lunch & Dinner: A sit down lunch at the Casselman Restaurant is an option for the group after our tour.
