Saturday, March 3: Today, we will bird Wolfe Island in search of winter birds such as: Snowy Owl, Short-eared Owl, Rough-legged Hawk, Lapland Longspur and early migrants, such as blackbirds and Horned Larks. We will also keep our eyes peeled for the adult grey morph Gyrfalcon that has been wintering on the ice between Wolfe Island and Kingston; it is hunting a variety of waterfowl. In Kingston, a nice variety of waterfowl are being seen, especially at Invista Lagoons. We will finish the tour with a stop at Ivy Lea, where we will scan for a variety of waterfowl species. Red-bellied Woodpecker are possible at this location, as well.
