Sunday, April 1: A nocturnal Owl Prowl, endeavouring to hear Barred, Great Horned, Northern Saw-whet and even Long-eared Owl. We will first aim to see and hear American Woodcocks displaying in the Shirleys Bay area. Then, we will head S, past Richmond, and conduct an owl prowl in known owl haunts. Playback will be used to entice owls into vocalizing; some owl species may fly in close, providing views as we draw our flashlights. Please note that flash photography is prohibited on this outing. PS: More on American Woodcocks here: http://www.jeaniron.ca/2015/woodcock.htm
