Saturday, March 31: A nocturnal Owl Prowl, endeavouring to hear Barred, Great Horned, Northern Saw-whet and even Long-eared Owl. We may also see and hear American Woodcocks displaying. Playback will be used to entice owls into vocalising; some owl species may fly in close, providing views as we draw our flashlights. Please note that flash photography is prohibited on this outing.
Outing notes: Here are some ideas of what to pack and what to wear during this field outing. Flashlight, rubber boots, waterproof footwear, and also your rain jacket/rain pants just in case it rains. Please pack some snacks, a warm beverage, water, lens cloth, lip balm, and favoured field guides.

Activity Scale: 1-2/5. We will mostly bird from our vehicles, but we may also bird by foot (a short hike) if American Woodcock migration is in full swing and the conditions are right for their display flights.
