Britannia Conservation Area

Thursday, May 17: A morning outing at Britannia C.A./Mud Lake in search of a wide array of spring migrants. By the third week of May, we will have entered peak migration of warblers, vireos, Baltimore Orioles, Rose-breasted Grosbeaks, Indigo Buntings, and many others. We may finish our tour at Andrew Haydon Park, scoping the river for waterbirds, such as Red-throated Loon and scoters.

Outing notes: Here are some ideas of what to pack and what to wear during this field outing. Sturdy, waterproof footwear is recommended. Please pack insect repellent, some snacks, plenty of water, lens cloth, lip balm, sunscreen, and favoured field guides.

Activity Scale: This outing is rated at a 2/5. We will be birding by foot for the morning, but covering a small amount of ground at a slow pace.
