Burnt Lands Provincial Park Trip Report

Sunday, May 20

8:00 AM to 1:00 PM

Another year, another great time searching for sparrows at Burnt Lands Provincial Park! We managed to find the specialty sparrows we were searching for, finding ten Grasshopper Sparrows and seven Clay-colored. Overall, a very fun morning searching for sparrows. Upon hearing of superb shorebird habitat in Embrun, we decided to drive well east and bird Embrun lagoons to finish off our day. We observed numerous species of shorebird foraging in the drained shorebird cell (southeast cell) at Embrun; what a shorebird scene! Thanks for an awesome birding weekend, everyone 🙂
