Sunday, August 26: A full day tour taking in the best of fall migration at one of eastern Ontario’s top Spring and Fall migration sites. Participants should expect extensive shorebird study, with an excellent variety of species present by late August. We should expect a nice haul of warblers and flycatchers at this date, as well. Of note during today’s tour will be that it coincides with the peak fall migration period for Empidonax flycatchers, as well as Olive-sided Flycatchers.
Outing notes: Please be sure to pack snacks, plenty of liquids, electrolyte mix, sunscreen, insect repellent, comfortable and breathable clothing, comfortable hiking shoes, and so on. Note that I will be packing electrolyte mix for the group should you wish to sprinkle some into your water bottle. Pack a fold-up stool to use as you study shorebirds, as well. Please pack your Ontario Parks pass if you have one. For those purchasing a day pass, the cost is approximately $15.00.
Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner: Please pack a field lunch for today. I am open to dinner plans after the event, either in Brighton or perhaps in Napanee or Kingston. Let’s discuss this when the time comes!
