Trip Report: Algonquin Park & Renfrew County

Two full days of birding

Our birding group experienced magical birding moments over the weekend. Algonquin Park was quiet, bird-wise, but a hand fed Common Raven and our own personal rainbow made for an exceptional day. Additionally, during quiet stretches, we took to admiring the incredible array on Mushrooms and Fungi of which decorated the forest floor around us. The following day offered up a “classic” fall birding day in Renfrew County. Nelson’s Sparrows, Lincoln’s Sparrow, American Golden-Plover, over three hundred Sandhill Cranes, two Greater White-fronted’s and more. What a lovely weekend with EOB birding buddies. Details below…
