Tuesday, June 11: This morning we will bird Richmond Sewage Lagoons in search of a variety of wetland birds and treasured regional breeders, such as Willow Flycatcher and Black-billed Cuckoo. Once finished with our hike at the lagoons, we will head to Trail Road/Moodie Drive Quarry Pond and search for terns, ducks, swallows and sparrows!
Outing notes: Dress light and seasonal, and consider wearing quick-dry clothing, as well. Please consider packing rubber boots and rainwear, extra socks, insect repellent, mosquito head net/jacket, plenty of water, electrolyte mix (I will supply this, as well), coffee/tea, nutritious snacks, and sunscreen. It’s also a good idea to check the weather forecast for the region in which we will be birding to help you decide on what to wear for the trip!
