Amherst Island & Kingston

Monday, February 18: Come out and enjoy some Family Day fun by going birding on Amherst Island! We will search for Hawks, Eagles, Falcons and Owls. We will be cruising open country in search of birds of prey and walking Owl Woods in search of roosting owls. It’s possible that we may bird the entire day on Amherst. If we have time, we will bird Invista Pond and the Cataraqui Bay on our way back home after our birding on Amherst Island.

Outing notes: Dress in seasonal and comfortable clothing, and consider wearing layers, as well. Please consider packing winter boots, ice grippers (if you own them), hand & foot warmers, extra socks, coffee/tea, snacks, water, and sunscreen. It’s also a good idea to check the weather forecast for the region in which we will be birding to help you decide on what to wear for the trip!

Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner: Please pack a field lunch for today’s tour. For those interested, I am open to organizing a sit-down dinner in Kingston after the trip is complete.
