Winter Birding in Ottawa

Date: Wednesday, March 6, 2019

Timeframe: 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM

Weather: Cold and wintry! Strong NW wind. High pressure system; bluebird sky with fluffy white clouds…but…-20-something with the windchill! Nice to have a warm vehicle to duck into in between bouts of looking at (or for) birds.

Outing Snippet

A nice wintry outing with Eastern Ontario Birding friends! We observed a lovely array of winter birds, including some regional specialties, such as: Barrow’s Goldeneye, Gray Partridge, Great Horned Owl on a nest, Bohemian Waxwing, Pileated Woodpecker, Red-tailed Hawk, Common Redpoll, Snow Bunting and more!
