Afternoon birding in Ottawa

Date: Sunday, April 7, 2019

Timeframe: 12:30 – 4:30 PM

Weather: Cold and blustery, hovering around the zero degrees mark. Overcast conditions for the majority of the outing; the sun broke through the clouds later in the afternoon. Will Spring just soon please arrive? 😉

Outing Snippet

We had a rather quiet start to our birding day, at Mer Bleue Bog, but made up for the slow start with some great birding along Milton Road. Milton is well-known as a Spring birding hotspot, by local birders and visiting ones alike. This area becomes a massive floodplain when the snow melts and geese, waterfowl, cranes and raptors pile in here in excellent numbers each April! From Milton, we enjoyed some good birding at the bridge along Frank Kenny before calling it a day. Please see below for further trip details 🙂
