Date: Thursday, April 18th, 2019
Timeframe: 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Weather: Overcast throughout the tour, with the temperature hovering around 4 degrees Celsius at 9:00 AM, rising to 12 degrees Celsius by 1:00 PM. The wind was moderate out of the S; a good migration day!
Wonderful birding today, with a nice assortment of lingering winter birds along with many new Spring arrivals. Between the two sites, we observed a hair under 60 species, which is quite surprising (in a good way!) The highlights included Bohemian Waxwing (250), Redhead (4), Rusty Blackbird (4), Yellow-rumped Warbler (4) Pine Warbler (3), and Horned Grebe (2). See below for further details 🙂
