Spring birding spectacle in Prince Edward County

Fri/Sat, April 19-20: Over the course of two days, we will birdwatch throughout beautiful Prince Edward County, during the spring migration birding period! We are likely to observe between 70-80 species of birds over the weekend, including but not limited to: ducks, swans, grebes, loons, birds of prey, vultures, gulls, terns, swallows, sparrows, early-season warblers, blackbirds, finches and more! We will cover traditionally-productive birding sites throughout the county as we search for birds.

Guarantees: With birds, there are never guarantees, but the good news is you’ll have a professional guide at the helm with many years of experience searching for and identifying birds. As always, I will endeavour to make the most of each tour, and the philosophy I encourage is to “take whatever the day brings.” 🙂

What to pack/What to know: Please dress for the season and be sure to check on the weather conditions ahead of the tour. Please pack your photographical and optical equipment of your choice; if you have a spotting scope, pack it, as well. Please pack a full lunch, which you can leave in your vehicle. I recommend packing liquids and snacks, as well. During spring tours it’s a good idea to pack rubber boots and extra socks (in case your feet get damp/wet).

eBird Checklists: I will take care of all of the checklists for the day, and share them with you when the tour is complete. Your eBird statistics will automatically update when you accept the checklist. If you are not an eBird user, that is perfectly fine; I will email the checklists after the tour. You’ll be able to browse through the sightings list without having to be an eBird user.

Washrooms: I will schedule a washroom break every 90-120 minutes.

Activity rating: 2/5. We will be hiking 5-6 km total throughout each day. The hikes will be on level ground and in some cases, on hard-packed sand.

Meet-up time and location: 9:00 a.m. on Friday morning, at Lake on the Mountain Provincial Park parking lot.

Duration: 7-8 hours of guiding each day. Single day sign-ups are also possible.

Cost: $360 per person (HST-included). I accept payment via e-transfer to eontbird@gmail.com. Single-day sign-ups are possible, at a fee of $180 per person, per day. Please email me at eontbird@gmail.com to book for a single day.

Payment due date: N/A. Please be sure to review my Cancellation Policy ahead of signing up for this tour.
