Peak fall warblers and more at Mud Lake

Thursday, September 5: Peak numbers of warblers pass through eastern Ontario at this time, and we’ll endeavour to possibly see 20+ species of warblers at Ottawa’s top songbird site: Mud Lake/Britannia Conservation Area! Peak flycatchers, vireos, thrushes and more will also be searched for.

Guarantees: With birds, there are never guarantees, but the good news is you’ll have a professional guide at the helm with many years of experience searching for and identifying birds. As always, I will endeavour to make the most of each tour, and the philosophy I encourage is to “take whatever the day brings.” 🙂

What to pack/What to know: Please dress for the season, and be sure to take a look at the forecast for the region in which we will be birding a few days out from the tour. Please pack a cooler with the food and drink of your choice, which we can leave in our vehicles. Bring along a backpack, should you wish to bring some water, snacks and guide books along with you anytime we venture out on a hike. Pack your optical and photographic equipment, including your spotting scope, if you have one. I recommend wearing long pants, a hat, and using insect repellent and sunscreen throughout the day, as well.

You’ll be able to browse through the sightings list without having to be an eBird user.
