Thursday, October 25: A ‘wild goose chase’ in search of up to six species of geese possible in the Ottawa area during October. Canada Geese, Snow Geese, Ross’s Geese, Cackling Geese, Greater White-fronted Geese and Brant will all be on our radar today. We will begin our day by enjoying the sights and sounds of thousands and thousands of Snow Geese at Lafleche Landfill, then move our way west to various sites from there!
Outing notes: Please be sure to pack snacks, a warm beverage of your choice, some liquids, electrolyte mix, sunscreen, windbreaker, comfortable clothing, comfortable hiking shoes, and so on. It’s a good idea to pack light gloves, a scarf and a toque at this time of year, as well, as it’s often quite blustery.
