We will first visit the Ottawa Valley Waste Recovery Facility to study, age and classify gulls. The Iceland Gull complex (Kumlien’s and Thayer’s), Glaucous Gull, Great Black-backed Gull, Lesser Black-backed Gull and more should be present at the site. There are often hundreds of Herring Gulls, of all ages, present, as well. After a few hours (2-2.5 hours) of studying gulls, it’s off to Lake Dore, where we will scan the waters for waterbirds of all kinds. We will finish the outing with a few stops at Muskrat Lake. Please be sure to pack your scope if you have one!

Scouting Note: I scouted for this tour on Thursday, November 22nd and had a nice study of the gulls at the dump.
