There are other changes too, such as a new species of Red Crossbill. For eBird users, these changes will be reflected in August, when eBird taxonomy is fully updated.<!--more--> For everyone, we\u2019ve just lost ourselves a lifer; for hopeless minutiaephiles such as myself, the challenge to ID a \u201cThayer\u2019s\u201d Iceland Gull has just become even <em>more<\/em> of a siren call.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The updated AOU checklist<\/strong>: <a href=\"http:\/\/checklist.aou.org\/taxa\/\">http:\/\/checklist.aou.org\/taxa\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>On the taxonomic history of Thayer\u2019s Gull:<\/strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ofo.ca\/site\/page\/view\/articles.thayer\">http:\/\/www.ofo.ca\/site\/page\/view\/articles.thayer<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>On another note<\/strong>, Yellow-rumped Warblers were <em>not <\/em>split.
