Overview, Targets, & Topics: This morning we’ll explore a variety of habitats throughout trails which provide two excellent examples of both resident and migratory avifauna in Stony Swamp. Edge thicket, secondary growth, pine forest, cattail swamp, maple groves….many habitats = many bird species possible. It’s possible that the trails may be wet and muddy so bring a pair of rubber boots along with you if you have them. Targets: warblers, flycatchers, Scarlet Tanager, Rose-breasted Grosbeak, sparrows, waterfowl, Birds of Prey. As always, we’ll walk, stop, listen to , and discuss various call notes and songs.
